Aerodrome is the leading decentralized exchange (DEX) on Base, designed to be the central liquidity hub for the Base ecosystem. It combines multiple liquidity structures from various DEXs and employs a ve(3,3) incentive model, making it a next-generation 'meta' DEX.
Here’s how it works:
Traders pay fees to swap tokens.
LPs (liquidity providers) earn rewards by supplying tokens to pools and staking.
veAERO voters decide which pools get rewarded with $AERO tokens.
Every 7 days (an epoch), new rewards are distributed based on those votes.

Stake your LP position in the pool
If veAERO voters support your pool, you’ll receive $AERO emissions
You can claim $AERO at any time
Note: You only earn $AERO if the pool gets voted in — being staked is not enough by itself.
LPs don’t earn DEGEN directly — but Degen incentivizes veAERO voters to vote for this pool.
That means:
More votes → more $AERO emissions → more rewards for LPs

Lock $AERO → get veAERO

Earn:
100% of protocol trading fees
A share of 1.75M $DEGEN weekly voter incentives
$AERO emissions flowing to your voted pool
veAERO = influence + income.
If DEGEN’s price rises while you’re providing liquidity, your final token balance may shift (you might have more ETH, less DEGEN). This is called impermanent loss. It’s a normal part of LPing — understand it before committing.

No plans to wind down Beefy at all — quite the opposite actually. This is just something we’re adding on top, not instead. We’re in it for the long haul. 💪
Also I think you might have an error on your writeup here. veAERO voters earn 10% of protocol trading fees, not 100%.

Beefy auto-manages your liquidity — super easy, great for people who want set-it-and-forget-it. You earn $DEGEN directly, but they take a small fee for doing the work. With Aerodrome, you manage your range manually and get paid in $AERO. Then you can stake that $AERO, vote on the DEGEN pool, and earn $DEGEN that way — more steps, a bit more complex, but potentially slightly higher rewards if you’re active. Both are solid — just depends how hands-on you want to be. 🙌
